Maçka Istanbul

Perched on the tallest of the seven hills above the Bosphorous river we designed huge electric ‘guillotine’ glazed frames that slide to allow unbroken views from the Bridge to the Mediterranean Sea. A white helical staircase welded from steel sections on site by ship builders provides the visual link between the 3 floors surrounding Jaume Plensa’s stainless steel sculpture ‘Istanbul Blues’ brought fresh from the Paris Contemporary Art Show.
